How secure is online banking at Peru Central School Federal Credit Union?  Naturally, security is a significant concern to Internet users.  Peru Central School Federal Credit Union is connected to the Internet in a way that keeps all the credit union's internal systems and member information away from prying eyes.  We have used every precaution to protect your accounts.  Every bit of information sent or received is encrypted, making it unreadable during transmission.  We also have a firewall protecting the credit union's host computer.  In addition to the systematic precautions that we have taken to ensure information security, your Peru Central School Federal Credit Union password ensures that you are the only authorized user with access to your account information.  Be sure to change your password every six months or so to ensure its integrity.  Keep your password in a secure place and don't reveal it to anyone.  Employees of the Peru Central School Federal Credit Union will never ask for your password.

When you login, your User ID and Password are sent over the Internet from your computer to ours using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.  SSL encrypts your personal information before it leaves your computer.  Encryption is the scrambling of information for transmission back and forth between two points.  We require a 128-bit encryption, the strongest encryption available.

There are two ways to check if your online session is secure.  You can look for the letters https:// at the beginning of the website address of URL in your web browser.  The "s" means secure.  Additionally, there will be a padlock icon on the lower corner of your browser window.
